Dogwood has turned

It's been a gradual process... but there are still some leaves turning red. Most of the ones that have fallen, went in the pool. The oak in the neighbor's back yard was more spectacular.

This is November, but I still haven't caught this sucker. In the sunlight his or her eyes light up gold - very spooky. However, he or she doesn't get lulled by the warmth into letting me get close. He or she likes to hang out in the skimmer basket

Roofing and Crepe Myrtle

Working on the part around the chimney, the crepe myrtle is getting into the act but not too much. Roy cut back all the trees which the insurance company had asked for.

New roof going on

As you can see, the new roof is green. It was actually a lot greener than I thought from looking at the sample. The sample looked like the part of the tile that goes underneath...

This is about halfway through. These guys were fast but, not knowing Spanish, I couldn't communicate with them. Roy, the guy I gave the job to, disappeared for most of the day

The Frog

Hard to take a picture of but I finally got him. My neighbor calls him Jeremiah... I don't know really that he's a male,, but he sounds basso profundo like nothing I've ever heard. Sort of like rusty metal machinery trying to work. He gives out four or 5 croaks in a row. When I first heard him, I was showing the house to someone after the closing, and I thought the sound was coming from the basement... maybe the air conditioner was dying or something. I was worried. I'm still worried. What am I going to do with him - and the swimming pool he currently calls home?

DeKalb County required this water-saving toilet, Mr. Chen installed the most efficient model and I got $10 back. It's also a taller model. After I installed it I decided to sleep in the bedroom nearest it.
